About

I am a marine biologist currently working for the Department of Conservation, New Zealand. My work focuses on finding smart ways to monitor the health of the New Zealand Marine Reserve.

Originally from Belgium, I moved to New Zealand in 2008 to take up on a job at Te Papa, the national history museum of New Zealand. In a joint project with Massey University, we pioneered the use of deep-sea baited remote underwater video. See a video of this work on National Geographic website.
